Air Canada launches direct flight between Santiago and Montreal
In an announcement that marks a turning point for air connectivity between Chile and Canada, Air Canada confirmed the launch of the direct route between Santiago and Montreal , an unprecedented connection that will begin operating on December 17, 2025 .
With this opening, the Canadian airline expands its international offering at a time of high demand and strengthens its expansion strategy in Latin America.
The company already operated the traditional Santiago – Toronto flight, which it has maintained since 2003 and which it resumed this year with five weekly frequencies, as Turismo Integral recalls.
Now, with the addition of the route to Montreal , it reaches its largest presence in the country in more than two decades , a milestone that consolidates Chile's role as a gateway to the Southern Cone.
Air Canada: Strategic operation in the middle of peak season
The new Santiago – Montreal (YUL–SCL–YUL) route will be offered as a seasonal service until February 28, 2026 , responding to the projected increase in traffic for the summer holidays in Chile and the winter in Canada.
There will be three weekly flights operated on modern Boeing 787 Dreamliners , equipped with Signature Class , Premium Economy and Economy cabins, guaranteeing a more comfortable, quiet and efficient travel experience.
The new AC52s will depart from Montreal on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 5:50 p.m. , while the AC53s will depart from Santiago on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 8:35 a.m. This schedule aims to optimize international connections and facilitate travel between the two countries.
In addition, there is the Santiago – Toronto route, which operates with five weekly frequencies: the AC92s depart from Toronto at 23:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays; and the AC93s take off from Santiago at 19:55 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
With both routes in operation, Chilean passengers will be able to connect to more than 200 airports in Canada, the United States, Europe, Africa and India , expanding opportunities for tourism, business and family travel.
