RIU Hotels & Resorts , in collaboration with Arajet , organized an exclusive FAM trip to Punta Cana that brought together tour operators from key markets . The event's main objective was to showcase the renovated Riu Palace Bavaro , which reopened on August 31, 2024 , and to introduce the other RIU properties in the area.

" The FAM trip was quite entertaining and different from what one is normally used to doing on this type of trip, as the itinerary allowed enough free time to experience the true life of a hotel guest ."

Attendees were able to stay at the newly renovated Riu Palace Bavaro , exploring its facilities and culinary offerings . They also had the opportunity to enjoy the beach and pools and participate in activities organized by RIU , including a visit to the Riu Republica , an adults-only hotel located 10 minutes from the main complex.

The Riu Palace Bavaro stands out for its modern rooms , 24-hour room service , water park and the Elite Club by RIU category, exclusive for adults, which offers benefits such as private check-in, welcome gift, snacks in the minibar, exclusive area at the pool, exclusive restaurant , among other benefits.

" On the other hand, it's important to mention that what used to be the Riu Naiboa hotel is now eight new villas with a pool area, pool bar, and children's pool with slides . In addition to these villas, there are connecting rooms , so there's a great option for groups of friends or families ."

In addition, the hotel features a new open-air food court near the beach, serving a variety of lunch and snack options, making it ideal for those who want a light meal without having to go to the buffet restaurant. Here you'll find everything from pizza and grilled food to Asian cuisine and even ice cream .

The fun of the RIU Hunts

Among the event's highlights was "Riu Hunts," a kind of "treasure hunt" and innovative activity that replaced the traditional site inspections . In this activity, participants received a questionnaire with questions to answer as they explored the hotels within the resort .

For example, from sliding down the water park slide to finding the best place to hold a wedding , participants had to take photos and tag RIU on social media , promoting interaction among attendees, who formed international teams .

" There were about 100 of us , so we were divided into teams by color. My team was yellow, made up of travel agents from Argentina, Mexico and Chile, 'hunting' and tagging RIU on social media to show that we delivered ."

This format was highly valued for its playful and social nature, concluding with a closing cocktail dinner and awarding of the winning team .

RIU Party, the parties you can't miss

RIU Party = Fun in Punta Cana . A vibrant experience that combines music, creative themes , and boundless energy. This entertainment concept has become a must-do for those seeking an unforgettable vacation at RIU hotels in the region.

" There are four themed parties : The ones that take place during the day are the Pink Party and the Jungle Party , while the parties that take place at night are the White Party and the Neon Party . These parties can be family parties or pool parties (for adults only) ."

If you're staying at the Riu Republica hotel , it's essential to keep a few things in mind. Because this hotel is located away from the main complex , it only includes transportation to the daytime parties ( Jungle and Pink Party ). If you want to attend the nighttime parties, such as the Neon Party or the White Party , you'll need to arrange your own transportation, which can cost around $15 USD by taxi .

There you wait for the bus, with everyone dressed in white, who will liven up the journey to the RIU Party with music and dancing ."

The White Party is known for its elegance and vibrant atmosphere , featuring a live DJ, open bar , and activities including a foam party in the pool . The party usually starts around 7:00 PM and ends at 11:00 PM , but for those who want to keep the party going, the resort's Pacha nightclub is an excellent option and is open until the early hours.

One of the biggest draws of Riu Parties is the opportunity to have guest DJs . Internationally renowned artists, such as Juan Magán , have participated in RIU Party events.
