Aruba implements a sustainability fee for tourists
The Happy Island is also the Sustainable Island . Starting July 1, 2024, travelers arriving in beautiful Aruba by air will have to pay a new sustainability fee of $20 , an initiative that aims to support various projects that will improve sustainability efforts on the island .
However, not all visitors are subject to this fee. According to the official statement from the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) , exemptions include residents, children under 8 years old, and repeat visitors who have already paid this fee in the same calendar year .

- Aruban students who can prove that they are studying at a foreign educational institution and have been residents for the past 8 years.
How will the sustainability fees be paid?
The fee will be collected simply and efficiently through the online Embarkation and Disembarkation (ED) card platform . Upon completing the ED card to enter Aruba, travelers can pay the fee on the official website: https://edcardaruba.aw/ .
