India implements a digital arrival card for travelers starting in October
Traveling to India will be faster and more modern starting October 1, 2025. The Bureau of Immigration (BOI) announced the implementation of the Digital Arrival Card , a digital arrival card that will allow foreign passengers to complete immigration procedures before landing.
" In order to expedite the immigration process and reduce delays at the counters, the Landing Card for foreigners can now be completed both physically and digitally . The physical format will continue until the digital system is fully stabilized or for a maximum of six months , whichever comes first ," explains a statement regarding the digital arrival card.
This innovation aims to reduce waiting times at airports and improve the experience for international travelers . According to the press release, passengers will be able to complete the form physically upon arrival, or digitally up to 72 hours before arrival, through three options:
- The official visa website : indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival
- The mobile application "Indian Visa Su-Swagatam"
- Scanning the QR code available in the official notice
With this measure, India joins the global trend of modernizing migration processes , seeking to offer greater convenience to travelers and reinforce its image as a world-class tourist destination .
